Repairing a car that an insurer has declared a total loss so it can go back on the road: the damage is assessed and costed, the frame is straightened on a bench, panels and parts are replaced, the car is painted and then taken through the inspection needed to drive it legally again. Ordinary insurance accident repair is listed separately.
