Lengthening or shortening a truck's chassis frame — changing the wheelbase or the rear overhang so a different body fits — by cutting the side members and welding in or removing sections of matching steel with reinforcements, adapting the driveshaft and wiring, and preparing the engineer's report and paperwork the ITV needs for this major modification. Straightening a frame bent in an accident, and adding an extra axle, are listed separately.
