Repairing a leaking or clogged radiator, intercooler or air-conditioning condenser on the bench instead of buying a new one: the unit is taken out, pressure-tested, cleaned through, soldered or welded, or fitted with a new core while keeping its original tanks, then tested again and refitted. Useful for older, classic or heavy vehicles where a new part is dear or no longer made. Finding why an engine overheats is cooling system repair.
