Diamond-cut wheel refinishing and polishing
Category: Tyres & wheels
Also known as: diamond cut, diamond-cut wheels, wheel machining, wheel polishing, diamantado de llantas, rectificado de llantas, pulido de llantas, llantas diamantadas
Bringing back the bright metal face of two-tone alloy wheels: the wheel is turned on a lathe with a diamond-tipped tool that shaves a fraction of a millimetre off the face, leaving fine bright rings, and then lacquered so it does not corrode. Bare alloy wheels can instead be hand-polished to a mirror shine. Each lathe pass removes metal, so a wheel can only be re-cut a limited number of times; painted wheels go under alloy wheel painting, and a bent rim is straightened first.
