Cutting the tread pattern of a worn truck or bus tyre deeper with a heated regrooving iron, on tyres marked "Regroovable", to add grip and mileage before the tyre is retreaded or replaced. Only tyres designed for it may be regrooved, and only to the depth the maker allows.
